Boo the Hero
Harper Lee has created a character who is special because he does not appear until the story ends. We learn about his character through rumor and fact. Boo Raley is Scout’s neighbor. She believes he’s a man of cruelty and terror. She’s not sure about what she believes as the story develops. A shocking experience at the end brings her face-to-face with him.
Scout’s relationship is initially very distant and cold. Boo does not leave his home and very few people have seen him. This allows for a wide range of fantasy about his appearance. Rumors were that he was a nighttime prowler who would peer into people’s homes and windows. He also ate squirrels and cats. Scout and her friends are terrified of Boo. However, they try to find more information about him in order to get a better look at him. When they tried to sneak into his house, a tall shadow appeared and they fled. This makes them want to run away from him and stop pursuing him.
After seeing a scary shadow in Boo Radley’s home, the children decide to run. Jem’s pants are lost on the fence while Scout’s older brother is trying to flee. He returns the next morning to retrieve them and finds them folded, mended and
The fence is draped with a blanket. He’s confused and surprised, not sure what to do. Boo’s kindness to them does not make sense. It gets worse when Scout finds little treasures in a knot-hole next to his house. They gather miniature figurines from the hole, along with gum, a wristwatch, and some string. They finally realize Boo has been leaving these gifts in this tree for years. They consider Boo to be a good friend, rather than a bad guy.
Boo Radley is the main character in the climax to To Kill A Mockingbird. Scout and Jem go home alone at Halloween. They are walking towards the street lamp in darkness. Someone attacks them behind just as they are about to reach the street light. Jem breaks Jem’s elbow and Scout loses her breath. Someone else intervenes to stabbing and carry Jem in. Scout and Jem’s parents, the policeman and doctor are all gathered at their house. Both are taken care of. Scout does not notice the man in the corner. She looks at him, but doesn’t pay attention to him. She is aware that he saved Jem, but pays him no attention. After the situation had calmed down, the adults started to talk about legal disputes and who was responsible for the attack. Scout looked up at the man and saw that it was Boo.
Scout is a wise man. The last story is the best. The night following the attack, what happened was amazing. Boo Radley saved the children by killing the attacker. He is guilty. It was not a good decision. The original statement is: “The.”
The attacker was found to have fallen on his knife. Boo’s social suicide was avoided by not pointing the finger and instead letting Boo commit it. Boo is the symbol of innocence and goodness that are covered by people. They created a bad reputation for him because their rumors about him. This would be unconscionable to ignore the murder of his son and accuse him. Scout and Jem’s Father mentions in their book that killing a mockingbird is a sin because all it does is sing and harm no one. Boo is a mockingbird. Scout discovers this in the end and it has a dramatic effect on both her and Boo’s character. She matures. Their relationship grows. It is here that the title of this novel comes in, since it would be wrong to kill an innocent mockingbird.
